My name is Joseph Bates, or brojo, to most. I grew up in Indiana and as a result, occasionally exhibit redneck-like tendencies. I attended Duke University, where I studied music composition and became sort of obsessed with vocal music. I lived in North Carolina for six years, working here, singing in this group and in a totally sweet renaissance choir, and otherwise engaging in various activities of music snobbery. I currently reside in DC. I enjoy pretty much all outdoor activities, writing music, educating people about stem cell research, and listening to Muse. I date a smokin' hot, marathon-running genius asian doctor. She's kind of a big deal.
